Slugger O'Toole Awards

I took the opportunity to swing by the Slugger Awards which were being held over at the W5 in the Odyssey Arena last night. It was a good bit of crack and a chance to catch up and meet people you would not see all that often: from political representatives and journalists down to bloggers and general politicos. It really was the elite of society.

I am glad to see that Slugger has received some mainstream media attention this morning and that not only were are political representatives recognised for their hard work, but also the bloggers that have stood out over the last year. NALIL, 3000 Versts and Burke's Corner made up the shortlist with NALIL the eventual winner.

All in all it was an enjoyable evening and something that should be turned into an annual event. Plus Tim McGarry was on form with the slagging of Barry McElduff (easy target I know but cannot be resisted).

One elected representative missed out though: Jim Allister MEP.
